What’s In My March – Ipsy Glam Bag?

It’s Ipsy time again. For anyone not familiar with Ipsy, it’s a monthly beauty subscription, where for $10 a month, you receive a cute little makeup bag known as their “Glam Bag” with 5 beauty items. You can customize the brands you prefer online as well as letting them know your eye colour, hair colour, skin tone / type and other makeup preferences to suit you. Ipsy is only available in the US and Canada and is billed to your account on the 1st of every month. Let’s get to it.

What’s in my March ‘Glam Bag’?

First let’s check out the actual bag itself. I thought March’s bag was kinda cute. The whole theme this month is “Create” so the bag came with two markers that you can use to colour in the bag, add your own designs and give it your own creative flare. I’ll probably give it to my 7 year old daughter because she will enjoy colouring it in.

Good Night PM Mask by MEG COSMETICS

These were the first items that I noticed as they weren’t in the Glam Bag itself (too big). The Good Night PM Masks promise to hydrate your skin without leaving a greasy residue. They claim to nourish and revitalize your skin before bed time so you wake up looking fresh and bright in the morning. The avocado fruit extract in the mask firms your skin and the camellia winsesis leaf water helps improve elasticity.

I have not tried the masks yet but I sure as heck will tonight. I’m looking forward to it. Meg Cosmetics claims to be cruelty-free and vegan too, so that makes me happy.

Glow Duo by CITY COLOR COSMETICS

Holdup Ipsy, you sent me highlighter last month and possibly the month before? What’s going on? Anyway, it’s highlighter so I won’t try to pretend I’m mad. Highlighter is life.
I don’t believe I’ve ever used a cream highlighter before so that’s kind of exciting. This duo is a cream and powder kit. One side cream, the other side powder. You’ll see in the picture below, that they are rather pigmented. I like how smooth they are. Both of them felt really nice. I haven’t yet tried them on my face, but I will soon.

Cream Pigment Eyeshadow in ‘Shine’ by HIKARI

This creamy texture claims to be super blendable and apparently stays put all day. Don’t they all? I swatched it on my hand just to see, and I can tell it will look good on my eyes. I liked how easily it applied to my arm. I liked the smooth feeling again, like the highlighter. It’s glitzy but not too in your face.

I looked them up online to see if they are totally cruelty-free and although they claim to not test on animals, there’s some uncertainty on the ingredients, so they are not yet on the vegan list.

Sex Kitten Eyeliner by TARTE COSMETICS

We’ve got another cream product here. I’m always excited to try new eyeliners out. This one is so tiny, it won’t last long at all. Remember, a lot of these products that Ipsy sends are just samples. This one is a sample because the price of the regular sized eyeliner is a whopping $20. Shit!

I feel like if you’re a newby when it comes to applying eyeliner or you just don’t have much confidence, then cream eyeliner is the way to go. It forgives shaky hands and mistakes, whereas liquid eyeliner has absolutely no mercy. I love the packaging for this, it’s simple and sexy and I’m excited to try it out.

Tarte Cosmetics does not test on animals and is completely cruelty-free.

You can buy this nice expensive eyeliner over at the Tarte website.

Lip Kit Pencil in ‘Stud’ by CONTOUR COSMETICS

I’m not really one for using lip liner, although I probably should because sometimes my application skills are of a four year old. So maybe I’ll use this. If I don’t, I could use it as an eyeliner if I’m trying to achieve a different look. You can also use this to contour your lips, which I’m not used to doing but I’m always open to new looks. This creamy pencil glides on easily and is very pigmented. This month, Ipsy customers will either receive Juju or Stud. I got Stud which is a pretty, brownish mauve colour. I think would blend well with the lipsticks that I own.

Besides the Ipsy website, you can purchase this over on eBay.

So there we have it. That’s it for March. The overall theme for the products was definitely cream. Lots of lovely, creamy, blendable products for me to try out which I’m actually excited about. I’m very happy with what I got this month. I feel like everything in there, I’ll use. I was hoping for an eyeliner too, so yay!

Thank you for reading. Let me know what you get in your Ipsy ‘Glam Bag’ this month.

Hi friends, welcome to my blog. I'm just your not so average stay-at-home mum who likes to write in her spare time.
