My Goals For July

Hello, hello! Yesterday I started to write out my July goals then thought “Nah, it’s not July yet”…. then I looked at the calendar today and was like “Oh crap, it’s July”. I thought I had a few more days left. So I guess I’ll get to it. Seriously though, why is this year going by SO quickly? 2018, slow down you crazy lady! Here are my goals for July.


Goal #1 – Cut back on the Monster Energy drinks

This 100% has to be my main focus this month. I have an addiction to energy drinks and I’ve tried to cut down but I cave in and drink at least two before the days ends. Caffeine is more addictive than tobacco. I’ve learned this first hand. I used to smoke and I quit that fairly easily once I put my mind to it. Quitting cigarettes was easier than cutting back on the caffeine and sugar. Want to challenge me on that one? Go cold turkey on the coffee. Let me know how that goes haha.  I was toying with the idea of going cold turkey for 21 days which will lead to me no longer needing to drink them but I don’t know if I want to completely stop drinking them. I promised myself 1 per day and so far, I’m failing miserably. I’ll report back on my progress next month. Something needs to be done.



Goal #2 – Get onto a better sleep schedule

I’m sure this was a goal a few months back. Part of why I’m so tired is because when the kids go to bed I stay up late. I enjoy the alone time. But lately I’ve been waking up at 5am, meaning I’m only getting about 6 hours of sleep and I feel like HELL in the morning when the kids are running riot. I can’t function properly without a full 8 hours. By the end of the month I want to have a normal sleep schedule and be feeling alive every day instead of zombie mum. I’m actually excited to think about how much better I’ll feel.



Goal #3 – Save up for England

This goal needs to be stretched til November. I’m planning on taking my kids to England. It will be JJ’s first time on a plane and he’s so excited. I want to save as much money as possible so that they can have the best time ever. I’m planning on taking them to the Lake District and some other great places. By the end of the month I want to have a couple of hundred dollars put away for it and then do the same every month.



Goal #4 – Get into a nightly routine with my diary

Yes, I bought a diary. I haven’t been writing in it every day though, so what’s the point? I either forget or by the end of the day I’m just too tired to write. My Grandma has been writing diaries for years and years, so that when she passes, we can have them and read all about her life. I think that’s a really cute idea and I’d love to do that for my kids. I’m not sure they’d find me all that interesting though haha.



Goal #5 – Be more creative with my blog

Not only be more creative but get on a schedule and think about what I’m going to write before I get to my laptop. I think I’d write better content if I had it all planned out ahead of time. I lack creativity when I don’t give it some thought. I went though a phase of being bored of my blog but now I’m starting become more proud of it again and I’m enjoying writing. I’d love to write more often too. So I’m not going to post again until I have at least 3 solid ideas written down.



Goal #6 – Master Lightroom

Adobe Lightroom is ace and I love it but I use the free version on my phone. I need to stop being lazy and use the desktop version. It costs money but it’s actually not that expensive. Because I’m so used to the app on my phone, I’m completely lost trying to find my way around the desktop version but it’s all good. I just need to dedicate some time to figuring it out. I’ve got this!



So that’s it for July. I hope everyone has a great month and get’s to do all that they want 🙂 I’m going to get a jump start on goal #2 and get some sleep.
